Sealing Proceedure

  • First you need to make sure the driveway is free of dust and dirt, and clean any stains that could affect the bonding between the sealer and asphalt.
  • Fill in any cracks or holes with the crack filler or level patch depending on the size of cracks or holes you have.
  • Ensure the driveway is thoroughly dry before application of sealer. If you are using a power washer, you must let the pavement dry for 24 hours because water will be forced into the surface due to the high pressures of the power washer and needs a longer drying period.
  • Asphalt sealers can be applied with either a roller or squeegee. If you are using a squeegee you will use up more material but will fill every little imperfection and have a nice smoother finish.
  • Start from one end of your driveway and slowly work down to the other. Allow sealer to dry for at least a few days before opening for vehicle traffic.
